The exact INCI matters. Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, and acetylated or other modified forms are separate cosmetic ingredients. Their molecular weight, supplied form, origin, specification, and formulation behavior should not be assumed to be identical.

Do not specify “HA” alone when the raw-material form and molecular weight can change both processing and finished-product feel.

Confirm the Exact INCI and Grade

Check whether the selected material is Hyaluronic Acid itself or a salt, hydrolyzed form, crosslinked material, blend, or modified derivative. Confirm molecular weight information, assay or composition, supplied form, origin documentation, and storage guidance from the actual supplier.

Use Molecular Weight as a Formula Variable

Molecular weight can change solution viscosity, viscoelastic behavior, film formation, and skin interaction. Avoid transferring performance data from one molecular-weight range to another without support.

Plan Dispersion and Hydration

HA can form lumps or develop viscosity unevenly when added poorly. The wetting method, order of addition, hydration time, shear, temperature, electrolytes, and other polymers should be reviewed with the exact grade.
